Opportunities in York’s Green Economy

This event is for entrepreneurs, businesses and anyone who is interested in York’s green economy. It will include a report that forecasts the green jobs, skills and industries needed in York, followed by a Q&A session between businesses and policy experts on the innovations required and the lessons of operating businesses in the bio-economy. Lastly, there will be a short talk on the business support available to entrepreneurs and businesses involved in the green economy.

 

The event structure will be:

15:15 – 15:40 – Business Feedback on York’s Green Economy Report:

  • Representatives from York’s Bio-Economy, Rail, Construction and Finance Sectors

15:40 – 16:05 – Q&A – ‘Starting and Running a Business in the Green Economy’:

  • Alice North, Head of BioVale at Biorenewables Development Centre, York
  • Chris Hiscocks, Enterprise Manager at BioVale at Biorenewables Development Centre, York
  • Will McDowall, Associate Professor at UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources
  • Dr Jason Camp, Chief Technology Officer at Circa Group
