NEPIC, BioVale and the National Horizons Centre (NHC) at Teesside University are excited to be working together to highlight the opportunities within Industrial Biotechnology to organisations within the Chemical Process Industry.
The North East of England Process Industry Cluster (NEPIC), is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to support and grow the process sector within this region. BioVale and the NHC are part of the THYME project; A collaboration between the Universities of Teesside, Hull and York to boost the bioeconomy across Yorkshire, the Humber region and the Tees Valley.
Industrial biotechnology is the use of biological processes to produce materials, chemicals and energy. It provides a significant opportunity for UK industry to deliver environmental, social and economic benefits. The potential size of the UK industrial biotechnology market ranges from £4bn to £12bn by 2025.
This event is designed to build a community of organisations within the process sector who are interested in developing opportunities to engage in industrial biotech.
