Join BioVale: Innovation Opportunities in the Bioeconomy, North of England Brussels event
White Rose Brussels are hosting an Innovation Opportunities of the North of England event with MEPs, Linda McAvan and Paul Brannen.
The meeting which will be held on 26th of April from 10:00-12:30 in the European Parliament in Brussels, will present the results of a UK government-commissioned Science and Innovation Audit (SIA) which has assessed the strengths and opportunities for the bioeconomy in the North of England. This is particularly timely since the UK will publish its national Bioeconomy strategy in early 2018.
The SIA consortium is led by the University of York and includes small and large companies (including BioVale), universities, agricultural colleges, the science skills body Cogent Skills, translational organisations working between research and industry, and Local Enterprise Partnerships (LEPs).
The Audit will explain how the North of England is a global front runner in science for the bioeconomy and the interventions that could stimulate major growth in the region. The panel discussion and Q&A will also situate the North of England in the wider European bioeconomy, commenting on current challenges and opportunities for sustainable growth.
