Digestate from anaerobic digestion (AD) is a valuable fertiliser for crops but can also represent a pollution hazard to both soil and the air. This workshop will consider the issue from the viewpoint of both policy makers and farmers and showcase some new technologies that might provide a solution for farmers as well as new value streams for AD operators. The event is followed by an optional networking lunch. Speakers are:

  • Iain McDonnell (Environment Agency):┬áRegulating the application of Digestate to land
  • Jonathon Skidmore (Natural England): The Catchment Sensitive Farming Initiative
  • Donncha Haverty (TCBB Resource): New ammonia extraction technology
  • Stephen Temple (J F Temple & Sons Ltd): Ammonia emission reduction at Copys Green Farm
  • John Crooks (Agri-Industry Solutions- Uk Veenhuis importer) Making the most of digestate
